This is an ongoing research project and will be updated as information is obtained. If you would like to add to this list, please use the Contact Us Link at Left. Please note that there are many variances in name spelling. If you are researching genealogy, please remember to try several variations of the name. Also remember that many names were changed upon arriving in America. For example, Johanson, Johannsson, Josenberg, etc. may have been changed to Johnson. Maja may have been changed to Mary. Erikksson may have been changed to Erickson. Remember to try several variations of both first names and last names. If possible, try to reference other documents that may list parents names. When in question, it's usually best to look at the parents names to try to determine if the person you're looking for is the same one as listed on these pages. There also seems to be differences in records, depending upon who is giving the information. Some may be as minor as a man reporting his occupation as a miner, while his son's application lists his father's occupation as a clay miner. Others can be more difficult when a woman lists her birthplace as Grassflat but on her daughter's marriage application, she lists her mother's birthplace as Peale. When the birthplace is in question, it's usually best to obtain a birth record from the Vital Records Office. The people listed on this page have a Grassflat, Peale or immediately surrounding area, connection.
